  • FOUR WEEKENDS AND A FUNERAL is a romantic comedy novel with a love story at its center that ends in a Happily Ever After.

  • I hope readers find FOUR WEEKENDS AND A FUNERAL a funny, hopeful, and escapist novel, but please read with care.

GRIEF: Since the word “funeral” is in the title, you should know that the characters in this book are processing their complicated feelings of grief and guilt after the sudden death of a mutual friend.

BRCA: We meet Alison a year after her preventative mastectomy following a BRCA 1 diagnosis. As a BRCA 1 carrier myself, it was important to me that this experience be part of Alison’s story but not all of it. In this story, she navigates friends, family, work, love, and, yes, what to make of her life and body now that she’s had this life changing procedure. I hope I wrote a book that provides fun and hopeful representation for BRCA carriers, but if you have specific content concerns, feel free to contact me with questions.

MENTION OF FAMILY MEMBER’S PAST BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSIS: Like most people living with a strong family history of breast cancer, Alison has family members who have been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Alison’s mother’s past diagnosis and treatment is discussed. My promise to you is that NO ONE will get cancer in this book. There are no cancer twists. Her mother is alive and well, and her cancer will never come back. Alison will remain cancer-free for the rest of her life. I have that power in this fictional world and I WILL let it go to my head.
